Like : Pop Life

Walking through this exhibition was like experiencing time travel.
Each room has created it's own nostalgic aesthetic which I personally found very pleasing on both my eyes and ears.

A great culmination of artists from the 1980's onwards who have embraced materialism to create their own 'brands'.

From Keith Haring's POP SHOP to Jeff Koons so called "controversial" pornographic delights, this show is well worth a see.

Tate Modern, now til 17 January 2010.

Dislike : Moaning about Public Transport

It's a known fact that 99% of the people who moan about public transportation don't even use it.
So stop making my ears bleed when you all drive cars anyway.

And for those moaners who do actually take public transportation how about evaluating the other options available?
You could ride a bike or, heaven forbid, WALK!
Or how about getting out of your lazy pit a whole 15 minutes earlier to ensure you have more than one time table option?

Get over it.

Like : The Furry Cup

Inspired by Aberdeen's very own Queen of the Deen, The Furry Cup is a snowboard edit contest that has been launched to get locals amped on their local snow fall.

The rules are simple;

Get yourself a team with no more than 6 members, less if you prefer.

Grab hold of a camcorder.

Film yourselves riding and completing a list of snow orientated tasks that you shall receive points for.

There's only one catch..............all edits must be filmed on snow so that means NO dry mat.

The Furry Cup wants to promote scottish riding and encourage all you guys to seek out snow whether it be in the city centre or one of our homegrown mountain resorts. They want you to get creative on their  asses and make the most of the snow we get blessed with.

Once They collect all the edits on their (yet to be confirmed) hand in date they will then have a premiere of all the vids and crown the team with the most points the winners of the 2010 Furry Cup.

Interested?

Register your teams by emailing : hudatyesnow@gmail.com by the 16th of October and await the release of task list on the 20th.

Dislike : Average Automobiles

I'm bored of of the sleek, flawless designs of contemporary motor machines.
They just whurr on by day by day, all looking the same.

And then I found these............. all hail the fatty-mobile!

Now that's what I'm talking about!

Like : Le Creativ Sweatshop

Le Creativ Sweatshop is the result of NDEUR (Mathieu Missiaen) and MAKE PAPER WOLRD (Julien Morin) coming together to create DIY inspired site specific sculptures which connect a conceptual communication through medium.

Like a virus, Le Creativ Sweatshop's installations consume and absorb the space around them, whether it's shoes, cars or pondlife.

Dislike : Vegans

Don't like cheese but do like wearing leather jackets.

Over it.

Dislike : Ban Snowboarding

Despite the fact that snowboarding has been a thriving sport since the 70s and a highly viewed event in the Olympics, there are still 3 ski resorts in North America that ban snowboarding:
  1. Alta Ski Resort, Utah
  2. Deer Valley, Utah
  3. Mad River Glen, Vermont
(Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico declared they would lift the ban in March 2008 after Burton snowboards launched their awareness campaign in regards to these resorts.)

Each ski area has its own reason for banning snowboarders, but to be quite honest they're all shite.
It's pricks like these that continue the negative divide between skiing and snowboarding that else where ended decades ago. Time to pull their head out of the snow and realise the mountains belong to everyone.
Avoid these nazi resorts and opt for their friendly neighbouring mountains instead.
